  • Mindfulness is rooted in Buddhism and has been practiced & taught for the last 2500 years. The practice of mindfulness is the key to transformation. It is a tool which we can use to reduce stress, create profound change in our lives, improve our relationships and increase joy. With loving awareness we are able to identify patterns in our thoughts, behavior, and emotions. In that moment a choice becomes available to us and change is possible. Mindfulness is available to everyone.

  • The trauma-informed approach utilizes a framework known as the “Four R’s”: Realization about trauma and how it can affect people and groups, Recognizing the signs of trauma, having a system which can Respond to trauma, and Resisting re-traumatization.

  • Neuroplasticity can be viewed as a general umbrella term that refers to the brain's ability to modify, change, and adapt both structure and function throughout life, and in response to experience.

  • Meditation is a practice where an individual uses a technique – such as mindfulness, or focusing the mind on a particular object, thought, or activity – to train attention and awareness, and achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm and stable state. Meditation is practiced in numerous religious traditions.

  • Toxic burden is determined by two factors: the levels of toxic chemicals and microorganisms that we’re exposed to, and the function of our innate detoxification system. If our exposure to toxins is high and our detoxification system is compromised—due to genetic predisposition, environmental factors, or both—then our toxic burden will be high.

  • The vagus nerve system acts to counterbalance the fight or flight system and can trigger a relaxation response in our body. When stimulated, you feel calmer, more compassionate, and clearer. Stimulating the vagus benefits your autonomic nervous system and mental health. Healthy vagal tone means emotional regulation, greater connection, and better physical health as well. You are more resilient and able to pull yourself through trauma and troubles.

  • Scientific study shows that emotions, memory and trauma live in the body. Somatic emotional release is the process of identifying where stuck emotions are being held and in what symptomatic ways they might be showing up.

  • Creativity itself is therapeutic. The action of processing thoughts and emotions through alternative communication methods like paint or clay or torn paper, or perhaps physical expression such as stacking rocks or breaking sticks, can all be beneficial in releasing as well as transforming stuck feelings. I like to call this Art Inquiry or self exploration through art. If this modality resonates with you, we might include it in sessions or suggested activities you do at home.

  • Our brains can’t tell the difference between the reality we experience and our thoughts, therefore an imagined experience is quite powerful. Using guided visualization, I call upon the power of your imagination to assist in the healing of your body and mind. We co-create a calm, serene space you can access again and again. In this container we can recreate a past experience and alter it. We can heal our bodies, our minds.

  • What we often refer to as “mold illness” or “mold toxicity” is actually a comprehensive and multifaceted syndrome known as chronic inflammatory response syndrome, or CIRS. Is the air quality in your home or workplace making you sick? If harmful biotoxins are present, it could be. Find out more about mold illness and learn how to prevent exposure.

  • The AIP diet stands for Autoimmune Protocol, and it’s designed for those with autoimmune disease to reduce inflammation to allow their bodies the opportunity to heal. It removes inflammatory foods, gut irritants, and immune stimulants for a minimum of 30 days. After the elimination period, foods are reintroduced one by one to see if the body has healed and can tolerate them again.

“Erica is one of those wise spirits you feel instantly drawn too ...warm, sincere, compassionate and generous.

Erica took the time to listen to my serious health concerns while providing me with insightful and thoughtful diagnostic and treatment resources and options specific to my needs.

— Electra F.

“I began work with Erica during the pandemic. Each time I participated in her workshops and circles I felt more centered in my true self, more joyous, strong, loving, and supported. Her work is based in love and positivity and she allows us to explore, express and share, or not, as we feel, in the moment. She opens the space for us with her vulnerability. She makes gentle suggestions, offering other possible viewpoints, with no judgment or expectation. I look back on my notes from sessions and re-experience the joy and insights I’ve had. I look forward to my next time working with her; it is a gift I give myself, and therefore to others in my life.”
